Above the shark tank

Today was my annual volunteer meeting at the zoo. As part, there was
a behind the scenes tour of the south pacific aquarium tank. This is
a picture of the top. The windows in the water below are where
visitors normally look in. The tank is surprisingly large - it goes
way back. The keeper had lots of interesting things to tell us. Very
fun.

Henry in the Chinese new year parade

Henry's school had a parade of kindergarteners with cool dragon
puppets to celebrate chinese new year. Parents were invited to
watch, Quite fun.

The builder

Max is very into disassembling things in the basement. We are
removing doors and panelling and such in preparation for a basement
remodel. I think he could spend much of every day with a hammer in
his hand. Here he is taking a bookshelf apart.

Swimming class

Henry is in the pollywig swimming class, learning to swim (he can
almost swim on his own.). Here he is with the instructor (in the far
lane of the near pool.)

Max is using some of his Christmas money for a bit of bowling fun.

A little surfing on a cold, foggy day in pirates cove. That is Joey,

fall pictues

I finally got around to posting some pictures from this fall. I'm
ditching the web gallery thing that hasn't been working for most folks
lately, and have posted them in a better way at http://web.me.com/gnyland/
. The only down side, is the slide show has the pictures really
small.

The boys are enjoying an inside sort of day (34 degrees and windy)
playing computer games, risk right now, and an art project is in the
pipeline.

An excellent party. Lots of folks, good fun. As usual, I have no
photos of the party, just the aftermath...
