Playing around at sunset

After dinner, we played on the beach below the Massimo restaurant in Purdy.  Lots of fun.

Dinner at the new Massimo italian place in Purdy

Well, it isn't new, it has been in Gig Harbor for years, but it just moved to the old Pearls/Beach House/Margarita whatever location at the Purdy bridge.  Great food.  The children's menu only has pasta, pizza and mac and cheese.  By some strange coincidence, those are the only foods my children will regularly eat.  So, it must be a match made in heaven.  I had some lovely homemade gnocchi, some of Max's excellent pizza (homemade dough, I'm sure), and a salad.  Mostly a meat menu, but plenty of good pasta options, the gnocchi and an eggplant parmigiana.  We'll be back - a nice place to stop for dinner on the way out to the beach.

Some serious Uno action

Playing cards, eating chips.  Could life be better?

A nice day on Stretch Island

The boys are playing outside somewhere on the spit (look closely for
red coats). Joey, Max and Henry braved the cold air and stiff breeze
for a good hour plus of outdoor adventure.

Henry finishing his poem

The younger Nylands all wrote (or dictated) poems and recited them.

Max on the stump

What Max lacks in literacy he makes up in dramatic, improvisational
presentation.

Poetry night at the beach house

Everyone brought a poem or two and read away. A very fun way to spend
the day.
