Sand castle building

After school we walked down the ravine and played in the creek. Here
the boys are building sand castles on a sunny, hot (78 degree) day.
Sarah should arrive here soon with some pizza for a picnic dinner (and
a ride home - it is no funwslking back up the hill on these hot
days.). -Gerrit

Finally, it is nice enough to enjoy breakfast outside. Very pleasant.

Duraboat in the water

I cleaned the barnacles off and put the Duraboat in the water with the
help of the restof the Nyland clan. Here, Dennis, Max and Henry take
a tour around stretch and reach islands, with a stop into the marina
for candy. -Gerrit

Firehouse breakfast

The semi-annual firehouse pancake breakfast. Balloon swords, as usual
accompany the fine breakfast.

After a bit of biking at Owens beach, max took in a bit of climbing.

Enchilada chef

Max and I made some tortillas and then put together some tasty
enchiladas with them.

We rigged the sailboat and there was just the right wind for a nice

Painting rubber fish

A fun art project in preschool, where I was helping out today. This
art project was basically a manual fish printing press. Max and Lucas
made a lot, so if you need a fish print... -Gerrit

At the Art Museum

After a very quick trip through the galleries, Lucy, Max and I logged
some time in the hands on art room, making flowers with pipe cleaners
and paper, then doing some drawing. -Gerrit

More Croquet

Lucy was over, and was up for a round of Croquet

Croquet

We planned to play croquet, and a little rain wasn't going to get in
our way. It is really just Max, Henry and me playing, with Matt and
Lucas from next door getting a bit of practice in while watching the
match. Max and Henry did great. We just need a bit more practice,
and a nicer lawn.

First view of the Budgies

Owen, Noah, Max and I went to the zoo today. Mostly we just ran
around, but we occasionally glimpsed wildlife as we sped by. Here are
all the new Budges clustered in the corner of their net, with the boys
