Church

Henry and I checked out a Lugano church.

Swinging

Swinging with a view of lake Lugano.

A hot day

We went to a little beach and playground this morning, and then rented
a paddle boat.

After the boat ride, we split up. Henry and I found a hobby shop
selling Märklin trains. We bought a couple train cars (Henry a Swiss
passenger coach like we rode on, and a freight car for max with
automobiles on). The boys really like them.

Swimming, parks and playgrounds the rest of the day.

Our hotel room

Twice the size of our last. Beautiful inside, with views of the lake
and palm trees. The hotel has a pretty big garden with some 100+ year
old palm trees. The ceiling in our room is at least 12 feet high, if
not more.

Pizza and gnocchi

Gnocchi (mine is better) and pizza in a Lugano cafe. We weren't quite
ready for dinner, but a serious hail storm drove us under cover.
Still, temperatures in the high 80s.

The south

Well, it is still Switzerland, but wow, what a change. It is 10
degrees warmer, and a world different. This is the hotel pool - palm
trees, bar, adjoining playgroud. What else could you ask for.
Everything in Mürren was wood. Here, tile and marble. They speak
Italian, the food is Italian, the architecture is Italian, but the
money is Swiss francs, and the trains run on time.

Train day

Lots of trains today. About 7 hours on the train, however, we have to
take 8 trains (well, 7 trains and 1 cable car) to get from murren to
Lugano. This is Henry's favorite train, the ICE (we just got off
after only 20 minutes to hop on another train). All the trains are
pretty full today because it is a Swiss holiday (their 4th of July).
